PECHAKUCHA NIGHT
VOL. 14
Brief:
Design a poster to promote the PechaKucha Vol.14 event, held at Kwanlten Polytechnic University in Richmond, BC. PechaKucha 20x20 is a presentation format where speakers show 20 images, each for 20 seconds, discussing a topic of their choosing. Many individuals choose to focus on a subject relating to creativity or unique experiences.
Concept:
This poster, displaying the sculpture represents the overall creative atmosphere of the event and the purpose of a PechaKucha; to tell a story. The random objects in this piece symbolize the wide variety of topics presented at the event to its audience. I built this sculpture by hand, using items found in the school’s storage units, neighbour’s garages and thrift stores. What is unique about the sculpture is that everyone has their own interpretation of it, which represents the different directions speakers can take in participating at PechaKucka.
